We went for their tiramisu and ended up ordering the brownie with ice cream and cheesecake as well. And it’s safe to say I’ve never been more disappointed with dessert than I have with Villa Urwa’s dessert. Brownie was absolutely terrible with a weird after taste which left me and my friends queasy, cheesecake was stone hard and not edible, felt like it was frozen in the freezer when in fact it was a ‘baked’ cheesecake and not one that’s kept in the refrigerator at all. Tiramisu was subpar at best. Just felt like we’re having spoons of whipped cream with cocoa powder sprinkled on top. When we brought up the issue with the cheesecake being inedible we were told “that’s how we make it, we’ve been serving for a long time.” Furthermore when we asked to return the cheesecake the person in charge said “No you’ve already taken it.” And made a nonsensical remark about how when we buy phones we can’t return it and that the cheesecake was nice. For people who love dessert, do not go here, bad service and terrible dessert. Only good thing I can say is, villa looks nice. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3

My friends and I went to Villa Urwa for lunch after reading the good reviews online. I just want to share my experience and burst the bubble of what this place really is. Although there were hardly any customers when we arrived, the service was so bad with just one person attending to us and preparing dishes in the kitchen. She claimed everything was made fresh but it didn't seem so. We ordered french fries, sweet potato fries, Thousand Island Chicken Burger and Chicken ghee roast Burger. We also ordered Kokum with mint soda. We initially ordered momos with Noodles however we were informed much later that momos wasn't available, we had to cancel the order. Apparently yesterday's momos were over and today's batch still hadn't arrived. It was already 1:45 pm! Also we got our drinks late since soda wasn't readily available! While the Chicken ghee roast burger and sweet potato fries were good, the thousand Island burger was bad. The bread wasn't fresh, the burger wasn't even warm enough and the chips at the sides of our burgers was stale! We were really looking forward to have a good time and great food there but we were really very disappointed with the overall experience. I expected open, clear and honest communication from them regarding the items and handling the order in a better manner. I would not recommend this place to anyone since Mangalore has much better cafes in terms of fresh food and service.
