Vegan Shala has still to create a buzz around itself. It's competing in a tough market and just within a stone's throw are several cafés offering vegan options in the same price range. The café's rustic, thatched look needs more of design inputs to make it compelling. At the moment, the varied seating with a mix of indoors and outdoors, spaciousness and vegan proposition attract. To keep and attract repeat customers, a friendly, talkative maitre'd or manager should be part of the branding. More ornamental plants, a herb garden, flowering bushes, a picture gallery on Rishikesh, sattvik and veganism, could help draw die-hard vegans in.
