Its really a long time for me in NCR. Faridabad to be more specific. And I have seen the fooding options in the city change from being zilch over to the point where people do have choices of not having to go out to Delhi, Gurgaon or Noida for their gastronomic needs. Hell! I even saw the city rejoice when the first KFC opened up here a few years back. It was like the entire non-veg community in Faridabad was there that day. Well, so were we actually :) Anyway, it is like The Unknown Cafe which is contributing to the slowly but steadily changing the food scene in Faridabad. Discovered this place when I was browsing through Zomato for option in this city not wanting an hours drive away from home. In a well known market, pics of the place looked good enough, the menu seems fine and typical for a cafe and cost fair enough. So, we have a winner. Locating the cafe was not much of a problem but getting to it was. It is situated in the second floor of the building with stairs leading straight up to it. Pretty steep stairs must add. But when we went inside, found it to be really cool. Decor was great with walls littered with graffiti, well lit, air conditioning effective, comfortable furniture, a large screen TV and nice music. We were attended promptly and found the staff to be very good. So far so good. Now the food. The coffee we ordered was great and very obvious that they had the Cafe Coffee Day machine for the purpose. Even had the CCD sugar sachets served at the table. For food, we ordered Honey Chilli Potatoes for starter, a non-vegetarian club sandwich, a lamb burger and a chicken wrap. The potatoes and the burger was good enough but the sandwich and the wrap definitely has scope for improvements. The filling was way too bland and bordered on having no taste as such. The sandwich was like having toasted bread with mayo and veggies. Wasn't too great. The cost was fair and for the three of us, I shelled out just about 500 bucks per head including all taxes. Overall, a nice enough experience. Whether I found it good enough to return here is a separate question. Oh! And by the way, this is a cafe and not a typical restaurant that serves standard daal, sabzi, roti. While we were there, saw a family come in, took their seats, saw the menu and left. Worth looking up what is being served before hitting an eating joint.
