The Rajbari Bawali

The Rajbari Bawali, situated on Bowali Rajbari, is a distinctive dining spot in the city of Raypur, cloaked in the historic ambiance of a zamindar house. Known locally as Rajbari, this venue largely remains a hidden gem as it's minimally featured in popular restaurant directories, with just a basic listing on Google. Although details about its operating hours are not provided, guests have experienced it primarily through lunch visits.

Diners at The Rajbari Bawali partake in meals served as thalis, which are appreciated for their generous portion sizes, but some patrons have expressed a desire for more diverse culinary options. Reviews suggest variations in guest experiences; while some comment positively on the overall environment and hospitality, others highlight a lack of cultural authenticity and a need for better food variety. The Rajbari at Bawali is located an hour from the Taj Bengal in the general direction of Diamond Harbor. This 300 year old heritage property is built on 3 acres of land including 2 natural waterbodies. The Rajbari Bawali belonged to the Bawali Mondal family that had land grants going back to the time of Akbar. The Rajbari Bawali, popular among travelers, is celebrated for its spacious rooms adorned with vintage decor and modern amenities, exuding comfort and historic charm. Service earns rave reviews for warmth and attentiveness, though some note minor maintenance issues. The hotel's immaculate cleanliness and regal atmosphere with lush courtyards are often highlighted. While the unique heritage charm justifies premium rates for many, some caution about expense. Amenities like pools and a spa are praised, despite suggestions for minor improvements& The service you wish for in a 5* hotel, but never get The kind of service you would wish for in a five star hotel, but almost never get! This “heritage hotel” is in a beautifully restored palace. The rooms are comfortable (pay for the upgradevif you want light and silence) and the food is good, with Bengali (highly recommended), standard Indian and Western fare. They have beer, wine, cocktails and spirits. Service: 3

The whole hotel is quite beatiful, service is very good. Staff is always there to fulfil you every wish. Our room was quite dark, we were medium happy with it. I feel the prices are quite high. Especially the boat trip is way too expensive for what is offered. The massage therapist was really exceptionally good. I would book it again every time. Service: 5
