This place is located in Rajpur on Old Mussourie road. considering there offerings and taste they have lots of potential however they are competing against Marigold across the road. I think coffee here on a winter evening/morning will be blissful. Awaiting winters to give it a try.

A pathetic cafe. Starting with the basics they don't have parking. the food is just horrible. Ordered a Vegetable Omelette which was very bland. Nutella Crepe was extremely saugy and felt like puking after eating it. A basic vegetable sandwich also they couldn't make properly, it was very bad. A sandwich is such a basic dish for a cafe. Service is extremely slow they took over 50 Mins to serve. Never recommend this place to anyone, Dehradun has a lot of other cafes to visit

First off, the Mudcup Cafe at Alaya opens around 10:15AM. This is for all the suckers who just reach there early in the morning Zomato dekh kar trying to be a cool person ki 'oh aaj yahaan se work karunga mai'
I am such an explorer. Hold your horses, Dora! I obviously knew this. since I do my research properly. If Tashi (the barista with a lying habit) tells you I was there 30mins befoe they opened up and
I was just staring at him like a dog hoping to be fed, don't trust him.

Anyway, the cafe looks like this could very well be in Rajasthan. And by that I mean in the architecture sense and not 'only underage married couples allowed' sense.
The cafe is located on this super thin road where parking a car will be extremely tough. Not for me, obviously. I can park anywhere.
Not because I am an amazing driver but because I am from Delhi so hum kahin bhi park kar dete hai. baad mei jo cross kar raha hai uski jhanjhat!

Ordered their American breakfast (chicken sausages + pancake + omelette + wedges + coffee) along with a juice so healthy you feel ki bas abhi nanga pair bhaagte huye milind somand aajaye, tumhe hi marathon kar deni hai.
The chicken sausages you can skip. Ask for more wedges instead. The omelette was also decent, a little bland for my liking.
But everything after that was the perfect accompaniment to the morning cafe + mountain sunshine + pretend book reading mood I wanted to set.

The coffee (cappuccino) is quite good. Foamy. Had a good texture. But the pancakes were amazing. They give you 3 pancakes + butter and maple syrup which is so thick and rich it was like ambani.
They are a must have. And if you are one of those people who don't like pancakes, the cafe is one the first floor so feel free to jump off from the window.
But the star of the show were the potato wedges. Now I am a true believer of fries over guys. Mainly because I am a straight male so londo ka kya karna. But the wedges were perfect. The best I ever had.

All in all, the cafe as a standalone is very picturesque and pretty. But all the good views are within Alaya and not around it. It's in an area where it's the one hot chick in that haryanavi guys ka group.
