I’ve visited The Monk a few times now, and overall, it’s been a good experience each time. The ambience is calm and tastefully done — comfortable seating, a relaxed setting, and a space that allows for easy conversation. It’s the kind of place where you can actually enjoy your meal without excessive noise or chaos. The food has been consistently good. The menu offers a solid range of Pan-Asian options — from well-prepared dim sums and sushi to flavourful noodle bowls and prawn dishes. The portions are satisfying, and the flavours are balanced without being overpowering. It’s clear the kitchen maintains a steady standard. One thing I’ve consistently noticed, however, is that the restaurant tends to be quite empty whenever I’ve visited. While this does make for a peaceful dining experience, it does feel like the place deserves a better crowd given the quality of food and ambience. Overall, The Monk offers good food, a pleasant atmosphere, and a relaxed experience. It’s a reliable choice if you’re looking for a quiet meal with quality Asian cuisine.
