I had a wonderful experience at this restaurant! The ambiance, staff, and service were all top-notch and hygienic. As a Pahadi, I was delighted to try their Pahadi Thali, which truly captured the essence of authentic Pahadi cuisine. The flavors were rich and delicious, closely matching the homemade taste I'm familiar with. However, I noticed the flavors were milder than what I'd expect from traditional Pahadi food. Also, it was expensive compared to nearby restaurants available. One drawback was the lack of parking options nearby. Overall, a great dining experience I'd recommend! The Himalayan Kitchen is a pleasant restaurant in the Bada Bazaar area. The premises are neat and clean with framed prints, pretty cushioned chairs, and most importantly - a washroom - a rarity in most restaurants in Nainital. It was lunch time, so I ordered a rajmah masala, a tandoori roti and half of a green salad. I'm glad I didn't order any more. The helpings here are big enough to serve two, if not more. Later, I ordered a madua roti, my favourite Kumaoni bread, and it was indeed both delicious and well-made. The rajmah masala unfortunately was heavily laden with a thick spicy gravy, and more suited to the Delhi palate. The mixed veg salad of cucumber, carrots and tomato helped cool down my tummy and palate. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Vegetarian offerings: Large vegetarian selection
