The Bucketlist hostel was by far the best stay for me in all of my solo travels. They have dorms and they also have a few private rooms. But what steals the show is their bar/cafe right in the middle of the property. They have a lovely bunch of activities planned almost every evening such as beer pong, karaoke night, dirty jenga, beach day, flea market day etc. they have a small but lovely menu of drinks that they carry that caters to almost all tastes. Their kitchen is amazing as well, they have set menus but they are not your typical restaurant, I.e you get thinks like dosa sambar or dal khichdi, chicken xacuti poi bread and bhaji, things that are more homely and are perfect for the hangover from the night before. The only trouble is, sometimes service can take a while, and kitchen staff may not really get you your food when you are really hungry. But what’s the point of reviewing a place you called home for two weeks if you don’t get to suggest them some improvements so on your next visit you get that much needed dal khichdi on time . Travellers staying more than 2 weeks can volunteer to work there for the duration of their stay or for however long they want against waiver of stay and basic food expenses! If you have never worked a bar before, you’ll learn that here. Volunteering here means you would work at their cafe(at separate premises) their bar and also monitoring guest intakes and checkouts. You get to be the face of Bucketlist, and be the first to meet that weary traveller who came all the way from Australia or some European country, searching for inner peace. At a party hostel. In a state famous for being a hippie favourite. Well. Hell yeah! The whole vibe is amazing, because of what the bucket list has to offer, you get to meet people from all over the world. During my stay, I met a screen play writer, a Gardner, a teacher turned marketing geek, a marketing geek who’s a party head, someone who runs a gas agency, a yoga teacher, an ex google employee who is also a budding songwriter, a fashion designer I can go on. But in a nutshell, if you’re new to experiencing solo travel and can be open minded, Bucketlist will be a sanctuary and a chance to see the side of life that you otherwise won’t. Go now. Rooms: Dorms are the go to option. But you also have a few rooms in a private appartment that has gym and swimming pool access. Nearby activities: Beach! It Goa, so bunch of bars and eateries. Within a couple of kilometers of Chapora lane, so great bar scenes. Check out Paul’s cafe (live music and open mic) and Paul’s bar for amazing vibe and great cozy place with killer drinks. For the classic tourist experience mango tree is right there. Party heads, this place is walking distance from hill top and also walkable from where karakus marakus usually happens. Safety: Gates are shut later in the night, staff sleeps indoors. Two to three amazing doggies in the premises, you’ll be fine! Noteworthy details: The bar, the host and the amazing owner! My recent stay at The Bucket List Hostel was nothing short of exceptional. The hostel offers an incredible experience for travelers. The vibrant and cozy ambiance, combined with attentive staff, created a welcoming atmosphere. The dorms were clean, and the common areas provided a perfect space to connect with fellow travelers. The hostel's proximity to Vagator Beach and other attractions made exploring the area a breeze. What truly sets The Bucket List Hostel apart is its commitment to creating a sense of community. The organized activities and events allowed me to make new friends and share unforgettable moments. Whether you're a solo traveler or with a group, The Bucket List Hostel is the ideal base for exploring Goa. I'm already looking forward to my next visit! Service: 5
