Stopped by this restaurant with my family for lunch yesterday.The ambiance at Elam was impressive, with a traditional and cozy vibe that made us feel welcomed.However, the food quality and service left a lot to be desired. The dishes we ordered lacked the authentic flavors we were expecting, and the service was slow and unorganized. To make matters worse, the gooseberry pickle served with our meal was spoiled, which was quite disappointing.Overall, while the ambiance was great, the food is overpriced and service did not meet expectations. Worst worst worst place for a dine in. Food is overpriced, but there is no quality that we expect for the price. The waiters were simply chatting with each other and didn't even look at us, let alone take our order. After giving the order, I think the girl had short term memory loss, entirely forgot our order. Then after 30 minutes I signalled the girl, where is our food, then she went and gave our food in 5 minutes. The food is just as same as a typical local hotel. I literally wasted my money here. We were in a hurry so didn't check the reviews in google maps and unfortunately we were trapped. To the management, if you're not providing the expected quality service & food, why you're cashing us customers double the money? For what? Your property? Dears, any local hotel in this route will have an elegant hill view. Either price your food according to your service quality or increase your food & service quality. Also give your staff basic training on handling customers. The food we had was veg & non veg lunch meals & specifically the gooseberry pickle provided was rotten by fungus. Teyla Restaurant in Kuttikkanam is an architectural marvel, seamlessly blending into the natural landscape of the area. The structure is thoughtfully designed, harmonizing with the lush greenery and serene surroundings, creating a tranquil yet sophisticated ambience. The interiors reflect a similar charm, combining modern elements with a touch of tradition, making it a perfect spot for relaxation or a special outing. The staff deserve special mention for their exceptional service, enhancing the overall experience. Despite the breathtaking setting, the food was underwhelming. I tried three types of pastries, a beef burger, and soup. The beef burger was average, lacking the flavor and quality one would expect from such a reputed establishment. The pastries, though visually appealing, were below average in taste and did not meet expectations. The soup was particularly disappointing, with an odd flavor that made it hard to take more than a couple of sips. Given the rave reviews, I had high hopes for the culinary experience, but it fell short. While the ambience and architecture are truly remarkable and worth appreciating, the food needs significant improvement to match the standard. For now, Teyla Restaurant is more of a visual and architectural delight than a gastronomic one.
