Extremely Unpleasant and Unsafe Experience — Avoid Swagat Hotel, Daman We visited Swagat Hotel in Daman on 14th June as a group, and our experience was shockingly bad. They charged us more than the actual bill amount. When two of my friends went to the counter to request a breakdown, a man claiming to be the accountant started arguing instead of helping. He became aggressive and verbally abused one of my friends, saying things like: "Why do you people even come here? We don’t speak Hindi properly. Because of people like you, this hotel doesn’t run well.". These comments were highly offensive and discriminatory. Soon, multiple staff members gathered, closed the shutter, and started intimidating us. When I tried to record the situation, they forcibly took my phone and made me delete the video. They didn’t allow us to leave and kept saying, “Go ahead and complain — we don’t care.” We even tried calling local helplines, but unfortunately got no response. This experience felt unsafe, threatening, and full of unprofessional and gundagiri (bully-like) behavior. I strongly advise everyone — especially non-Gujaratis and tourists visiting Daman — to stay away from Swagat Hotel for your own safety and peace of mind. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
