I visited Spice Kraft, Ballygunge for the first time, and overall it was a memorable dining experience. What we tried: * Dajaj Charmoula * Lymwn Samak * Khor Khong * Mutton Dum Biryani * Beyond Fried Ice Cream Positives: The Dajaj Charmoula, Lymwn Samak, Khor Khong, and Beyond Fried Ice Cream were absolutely outstanding. The flavors were exceptional, and these are dishes I would happily return for. The presentation and attention to detail in every dish were commendable. The ambience is cozy, elegant, and beautifully designed in a simple yet sophisticated manner, making it a wonderful place to spend quality time. A special mention to the waiter who patiently explained the menu, suggested dishes thoughtfully, and enhanced our overall experience with excellent service. Areas for Improvement: As someone who is a huge biryani enthusiast and has enjoyed Lucknowi, Hyderabadi, Awadhi, Ambur, Maharashtrian, and Kolkata biryanis, I was particularly excited about the Mutton Dum Biryani. Unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations and tasted one of the worst Biriyani ever.The rice texture felt quite dry, and the dish lacked the richness and balance typically associated with a good dum biryani. Personally, it felt more like Bhaat Vaja (Rice Fry) than biryani. Considering the overall quality and reputation of Spice Kraft, this was surprising. I genuinely hope the biryani recipe or preparation can be revisited, as it has the potential to match the high standards set by the restaurant’s other offerings. Despite this, we had a lovely time and would certainly return to enjoy some of the other excellent dishes.
