While visiting Shahi Qila, we found that crowd levels varied significantly depending on the time of day, as most visitors come for the show scheduled between 4 PM and 5 PM. Our early arrival before 3 PM allowed us to explore the fort with minimal crowds. However, we then had to wait for approximately 90 minutes on the stairs for the gates to open for the show, a situation shared by many other attendees. Person who have ordered food were allowed to sit inside. Near the restaurant you will find so many small stalls selling the India’s flag along with caps , umbrellas, dupatta, etc… designed in Indian flag. After waiting for 90 min. The gate (BAF-INDIA’S FIRST LINE OF DEFENCE) was open , followed by very strict checking [level of the airport] as some of the items were not allowed and can be seized by the officers and cannot be given back. Just a small note , Upon arriving, visitors will often encounter individuals offering to paint the Indian flag on hands and faces. Be advised that these services are not free, and it is common to be charged an exorbitant amount, as I was when I paid ₹100 for a few small flags.
