Cafe Samovar which is named after a self boiling metal container prevalent in Kashmir and Central Asia is a gem of a cafe at the heart of Kala Ghoda. Located inside the Jehangir Art Gallery, it is a must visit after you enjoy your tour of the gallery. This place has an old-school charm that has grown over the years with the iconic crowd of artists that it attracts. The food is tasty and affordable even for students and research scholars. It is a great place to chill with friends over "regular chai" in small glasses a la roadside tea-stall and nibble on Mutton Samosas or Lachha Parathas with Mutton Kheema. Service is a little bit on the slower side, in keeping with the overall mood of the place. It closes down by 19:30 which is a pity. Highly recommended.
