Visited the new independent branch in Saravanampatti (next to Boomerang) for dinner. We ordered the following: Classic Chicken Shawarma, Sheekh Kebab, Mexican Shawarma Sandwich. Pros: The restaurant is designed with nice interiors along with a good shawarma and grill counter enough to convince you that it is a great place for grilled arabian food. Cons: 1. The classic shawarma was quite filling but had some Italian herbs in it along with a sweet mayo which totally ruined the taste. Hence this cannot by any means be called a shawarma! 2. The Mexican Shawarma Sandwich was a bigger disappointment as it was served on two small slices of bread small enough to slide into my pant pocket. Definitely 'Not' worth the price of ₹218! 3. Sheekh Kebabs were just ok and tasted like the frozen ready to cook kebabs. Not worth the price of ₹269. Another strange yet annoying factor is that customers are required to pay for the order first before receiving the items. I'm not sure what kind of strategy this is, but it is ridiculous especially when the food is below par! P. S - On your menu, please rename the shawarma to chicken wraps or rolls as they taste nothing like a shawarma and your restaurant does not do justice to the name 'Street of Arabia'. I have eaten at multiple arabian cuisine restaurants in India and the Middle East but your place does not come close to the arabian taste.
