The fish nirvana was worth the hype. The fish was moist and the sauce delectable. The mutta appam and iddiyappam was just superb. And you must try the banana tiramisu. Restaurant Chef Pillai is a Must try and should not miss in Kozhikode. While we went, there was not much waiting time. Taste of the dish is top notch. Must try is Nirvana fish which was rich and flavourful. We went for set menu which gave us opportunity to try all their signature dishes in a perfect portion size. I'm still swooning over the incredible Fish Curry Thali Meals at Restaurant Chef Pillai Calicut! We arrived around 2:30 pm, expecting a leisurely lunch, but were a bit surprised when we received only 2 plates for the 4 of us. The other 2 had to settle for porotta and idiyappam with the amazing Konj Manga Roast - Prawns cooked with raw mango and a rich blend of spices. It was love at first bite! The semi-gravy struck a perfect balance between the natural sweetness of prawns and the tanginess of raw mango. The ambience was classy and upscale, setting the tone for a delightful dining experience. The Fish Fry (Mackerel) was TO DIE FOR - spicy, flavorful, and loaded with toppings. My personal faves were the Fish Niravana and Thali Meals - absolutely mouth-watering! However, the service let us down a bit. Not only did our server seem rushed, but I also received the wrong bill! Not cool. Despite that, I'd still go back for the incredible food. Must-try: Fish Fry, Fish Niravana, and Thali Meals!
