Poor Man's Kitchen

Eating nicely cooked pizza, fried chicken and fried chicken burgers is a pleasant experience here. Most likely, you'll come back to this cafe later to taste great coffee. Many guests think that the staff is energetic at this place. Enjoyable service is a strong point that plays a great role for the success of Poor Man's Kitchen. You may pay your attention to the pretty atmosphere. But this place hasn't gained a high rating from Google users.

Visited a few months back and didn't like the food. The Meat Patty on the burger was very rubbery and tough, the drinks were bland and the fries were overpriced. However, recently, the cafe has taken a radical departure from making mediocre & subpar food to making really good tasting food. The burger buns and patty are now soft and tasty, except for the deluge of ketchup that hits you when you take a bite. Nevertheless, it's an excellent burger compared to the standard fare in town. The Pizza is a bit on the pricier side, but, it's well worth the money, considering that the chef doesn't skimp out on the toppings and is usually very generous with them. The Coffee is just heavenly, and, compared to the ones you get elsewhere in town, much better. Haven't had time to try the fried chicken yet but it's definitely on the list. They have delivery services as well with no minimum order requirement, the only catch is you need to pay a reasonable delivery charge of Rs. 60 only. This has quickly become one of my favourite fast food joints in town. While the food might be a little bit on the expensive side, it's perfectly reasonable for the quality, taste and quick service. Besides, where else can you get foods like Chomepik Fried Chicken (their interpretation of the Colonel's Fried Chicken), soft and juicy Chicken burgers, delicious cheesy pizzas, etc. in this town? While the name of the cafe might seem to be a misnomer, (considering the prices of the food), it's not so. The entrepreneur, with a small capital, started out on this venture and put his heart and soul into this project. The effort definitely shows in the food and the ambiance. From it's humble and shaky beginnings, Poor Man's Kitchen has risen to become one of the best Cafe's (dare I say, the only good one?) in town. I hope they can continue and expand, because Diphu is in need of good Cafe's like this. Rated 5 stars.
