Poojari Fish Land in Mysuru is a must-visit place for seafood lovers. The restaurant has a lot to offer, from its beautifully decorated interiors with vintage cars and bikes on display, to its wide variety of coastal dishes. The staff is friendly and courteous, and the service is prompt. The food is delicious, with special mentions for the Tandoori Pomfret, Prawn Ghee Roast and Anjal Rava Fry. The prices are also reasonable. With ample parking space, it is a great spot for family outings. Highly recommended!

For starters. we ordered Anjal rava fry and the masala wrapped in banana leaf. The fish was excellently prepared with a wafer thin coating of the rava. We ordered neer dosa, bangude curry, kori rotti and chicken curry for mains. The malasa in the bangude curry was a bit uncooked and we could get the rawish smell of the masala. Nevertheless, we added some lime to it and had it. The bangude fish was really nice. Same with the kori rotti and chicken curry. Overall, it was a really satisfying meal.
Now this is where things went wrong - I parceled prawns biryani and prawns ghee roast. When I got back home and opened the parcel, I was shocked to see that the prawns biryani was just chicken biryani rice with about 10 pieces of small prawns, almost shrimp size. The biryani had no sea foody flavour or essence at all! It was hugely disappointing. And it cost a bomb! For reference, chicken biryani is Rs 250, mutton biryani is around Rs 350 and prawns biryani cost a whopping Rs 600! Felt completely cheated.
And the prawn ghee roast was equally bad. First, there was no ghee in it whatsoever. It was just regular roast masala and was over-salty. I had to eat it with plain white rice with added ghee for the dish to be edible and to make me feel like it's ghee roast. Extremely disgusted at the level of deceit.
I think they deliberately don't pay attention to dishes that are asked for takeaway because once you take it away, what can you do?
Lunch for 4 including parcel cost me about Rs 4800. The least the restaurant can do for such a hefty price is provide satisfactory food.
My advice for you is never take any parcel from this place.

I decided to stop at this place because I’ve been here before and I liked the good.

Today we ordered for fish and prawns and some neer dosa. The fish was stale and the prawns were not good at all. Both me and my driver felt like we wanted to puke when we ate it and then when I informed them, it was the owner who was right there and said ‘yav tablu complain madala’ meaning - no one else here is complaining, but only us and he was pretty rude.

He came back in a few minutes and started yelling at us bcoz we said the food wasn’t good. What do they want us to consume stale bad food?

Then, we decided to waste it all and order biryani just to be safe. It was like PULAV! Like seriously - who are they kidding here?

My bill was 1500/- for nothing. I wish I’d rather spent that money on some place more worth it!

We walked out eating nothing bud feeling atm.

A friend of mine went to this restaurant a year back and told me that it is good. Last week me, another friend of mine went to this restaurant with our families. Lot of parking space available and few antique cars and bikes were kept. But don't worry, they will cover these parking space cost in the bill of the food items. We went in and ordered for chicken hot and sour soup. Later we got some soup, and they claimed that as chicken hot and sour soup. No option but to agree, we agreed and continued. We ordered bangada thava fry. Steward suggested to order for bangada thava masala fry and he made some marketing for that food. We know bangada masala fry, we know bangada thava fry, but what is this bangada thava masala fry. We understood when we received it in just 2 minutes. Think of it, any fry, that too thava fry in 2 minutes just like maggie noodles. Thava fry was kept in fridge. They put into to thava with masala and served it. Food was not even hot. One of the worst taste I ever had in my life. Then we ordered some chicken dry, two anjal curry and rices. Chiken was not that bad, manageable. But fish curry was very bad in taste. Best part is anjal pieces in the curry was totally invincible. Some small tail pieces. Rice is so hard that you need hammer to break it. Finally, we ordered a cup of curd so that we can manage the rice with that. For more than 20 minutes they did not serve the curd despite we asked for it two to three times. Finally, the gave some salad. We told we ordered curd. He went back and came back saying "We will charge the curd". I asked him "Is rest of these foods are free. " And asked him to bring the curd. Finally, instead of cup of curd, he brought a plate of curd. We needed only a cup of curd, we had to leave the rest. We know we should not waste the food, but we cannot risk the health by overconsuming. Finally, the bill came. If the food is good, we don't bother much about the bill as we have that satisfaction with us. But in Poojari fish land, bill looks like hill as the quality of food is so poor.
