Poojari's Fish Land (Mysore-Bangalore Road): A Taste of Mangalore with a Quirky Twist Poojari's Fish Land, situated on Mysore Bangalore Road, offers a unique dining experience that feels like a mini-trip to Mangalore. The restaurant's decor is spacious and eclectic, creating a captivating atmosphere with both indoor and outdoor seating options. A particularly charming feature is the well-kept cow stable, housing cows and goats, which adds a touch of rustic authenticity. The vintage car collection provides an unexpected and delightful visual element. The menu focuses on authentic Mangalorean seafood, showcasing seasonal catches such as Anjal, Pomfret, and Kane. You can also enjoy Mangalore-style dishes like Neer Dosa and Kori Roti with Chicken Curry. Beyond seafood, the restaurant offers a diverse selection of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, complemented by a fully stocked bar. Customer feedback highlights the restaurant's beautiful and quirky decor, delicious food, attentive service, pleasant ambiance, and reasonable prices. Its convenient location and ample parking make it an ideal stop for travelers. The unique vintage displays are a particular draw for visitors. While some have noted that service can be slower during busy periods, the overall impression is overwhelmingly positive. For starters. we ordered Anjal rava fry and the masala wrapped in banana leaf. The fish was excellently prepared with a wafer thin coating of the rava. We ordered neer dosa, bangude curry, kori rotti and chicken curry for mains. The malasa in the bangude curry was a bit uncooked and we could get the rawish smell of the masala. Nevertheless, we added some lime to it and had it. The bangude fish was really nice. Same with the kori rotti and chicken curry. Overall, it was a really satisfying meal.
Now this is where things went wrong - I parceled prawns biryani and prawns ghee roast. When I got back home and opened the parcel, I was shocked to see that the prawns biryani was just chicken biryani rice with about 10 pieces of small prawns, almost shrimp size. The biryani had no sea foody flavour or essence at all! It was hugely disappointing. And it cost a bomb! For reference, chicken biryani is Rs 250, mutton biryani is around Rs 350 and prawns biryani cost a whopping Rs 600! Felt completely cheated.
And the prawn ghee roast was equally bad. First, there was no ghee in it whatsoever. It was just regular roast masala and was over-salty. I had to eat it with plain white rice with added ghee for the dish to be edible and to make me feel like it's ghee roast. Extremely disgusted at the level of deceit.
I think they deliberately don't pay attention to dishes that are asked for takeaway because once you take it away, what can you do?
Lunch for 4 including parcel cost me about Rs 4800. The least the restaurant can do for such a hefty price is provide satisfactory food.
My advice for you is never take any parcel from this place.

I decided to stop at this place because I’ve been here before and I liked the good.

Today we ordered for fish and prawns and some neer dosa. The fish was stale and the prawns were not good at all. Both me and my driver felt like we wanted to puke when we ate it and then when I informed them, it was the owner who was right there and said ‘yav tablu complain madala’ meaning - no one else here is complaining, but only us and he was pretty rude.

He came back in a few minutes and started yelling at us bcoz we said the food wasn’t good. What do they want us to consume stale bad food?

Then, we decided to waste it all and order biryani just to be safe. It was like PULAV! Like seriously - who are they kidding here?

My bill was 1500/- for nothing. I wish I’d rather spent that money on some place more worth it!

We walked out eating nothing bud feeling atm.
