Let me start off by saying that I understand a negative review can greatly impact a restaurant in these troubling days. I tried calling the restaurant multiple times to share my feedback via the number listed on Zomato, but they did not answer.
The strips bucket is terribly mediocre. The chicken strips are crisp but small, much smaller than the KFC strips. But most importantly, they're coated in some ungodly masala mix that tastes like a combination of Peri Peri, Cajun, and possibly Lemon Garlic powders, probably the powders made by VK Foods. This makes the whole thing taste Indian, and like nothing I've eaten in Philadelphia.
It's considerably spicier than the KFC variant. KFC isn't a good benchmark, but it's better than this heap of red masalas.
The 4 dips are just 2x Thousand Island and 2x Eggless Mayo dips, both of which tasted like Veeba or Fun Foods or some other store-bought product. Store-bought is fine, where they lose points is that they don't go with the chicken at all.
Even more disappointing were the chicken nuggets. I was expecting in-house nuggets, but they're just Venky's nuggets at a much higher price than Venky's. For a place called Philly Fried Chicken, this is really inexcusable. Even Burger Barn makes their own nuggets, which are really good.

I don't understand why this place is so highly rated. It has no roots in Philly food, and seems to appeal more to the unevolved palate that enjoys having its taste buds carpet bombed with masala. KFC is a better deal any day of the week (especially Wednesday, when the strips bucket is Rs. 350).
