If you are in Namsai and wish to try the ethnic food, then Naung Paa is a sure stop. I travelled solo from Tezu to Wakro-Parshuram Kund and on the way back stopped for lunch at Namsai. What caught my eyes was the traditional structure of the resto based on sustainable local resources (that stands out from the rest). I ordered boiled chicken with veg thali while for the pilot fried pork with veg thali. The rice served is aromatic and you can eat almost double of your normal intake of rice, as I realised I did. The boiled chicken served with lots of green herbs, salad and hot and pungent chutney was a true gastronomical delight. Service could be a bit prompt but it is worth the wait, if you are travelling further and not in a hurry and also considering what is served on the platter. Try the Singpho tea right after lunch.
