Decent but could be better Visited Nanking Restaurant recently after hearing a lot about it. The ambiance is quite old-school and the service was reasonably quick. Unfortunately, the Manchow soup tasted old which was quite disappointing and really affected the overall experience. The rest of the food was decent, though nothing really stood out as exceptional — the flavors felt a bit toned down. Honestly, if you’re truly craving great Chinese food in Hyderabad, Chinese Pavilion is still the best choice in my opinion — the taste, freshness, and overall experience there are on another level. Overall, Nanking is okay for a casual meal, but for authentic and satisfying Chinese cuisine, I’d recommend heading to Chinese Pavilion instead. While the younger crowd may flock elsewhere, old-school folks like me still swear by its enduring charm. My go-to dishes here include: Prawns in garlic sauce – both the sweet garlic and hot garlic versions are packed with flavour. Prawns fried noodles – served with a thick, seafood-infused noodle broth; a must-try! Mixed fried rice – a classic, no-frills favourite that never disappoints. Fried chicken with pickle sauce – crispy chunks of chicken paired with a tangy, kimchi-like pickle sauce. Mongolian pot chicken – tender cubes of spiced chicken, slow-cooked in a traditional clay pot. Schezwan prawns – lightly crisped and wonderfully spicy! Food: 4 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

Visited Nanking CR with family last evening. What has always attracted me to this restaurant is their Chicken drumsticks - however what has always turned me down is their arrogance and their service. This time it will be my last. At 10:30 pm I was told that no more orders can be taken as the kitchens closed - I duly respected that. What was bizarre was the staffs attitude in trying to serve everything at once so that they can shut their service also at 10:30. We were given the bill instantly while we were eating. When asked to get us a finger bowl, no one was there. I think this is it - no more Nanking CR for us. Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
