A Hidden Gem Mohanan's Hotel is a local favourite that's been around for over 55 years. This old-school eatery is famous for its mouth-watering banana fritters and beef, but they also serve up some amazing ullivada, mulaku baji (chili fritters), kanthari kappa (smashed tapioca with chillies), and pork. The Magic Happens Here On busy days, the chefs here fry a whopping 200 kilos of plantains in hot oil. And the best part? Everything is cooked on traditional wood-burning stoves, giving the dishes a unique flavour. A Rich History The hotel is housed in a charming old building with a tiled roof and wooden shelves. It all started back in the day as Asad Hotel, but over time, it became known as Mohanan's Tea Shop (or Mohanante Chayakkada) thanks to its owner's delicious cooking. The Viral Sensation In 2021-2022, Mohanan's Hotel went viral for its irresistible pazhampori-beef combo, earning it another nickname - The Pazhampori Shop. If you're a foodie looking for a authentic experience, this place is a must-visit!
