We tried the kachori sabzi with chutney and pickle — and honestly, for just ₹25 it was super tasty and filling. The kachori was crispy, sabzi had that perfect spicy Kolkata flavour, and the lal mohan for ₹10 was soft and delicious. Simple place, no fancy setup, but pure old-school taste and budget-friendly food. Perfect stop after shopping at New Market. Highly recommended if you want authentic, affordable Kolkata street food! Disappointing Experience: Overpriced and Subpar Quality I recently visited Mohan Bhandar Esplanade, expecting a satisfying snack experience. Unfortunately, my expectations were shattered by the overpriced and subpar quality of their offerings. Overpriced Roadside Shop Mohan Bhandar Esplanade is essentially a roadside shop, but its prices are shockingly high. For the quality and quantity they provide, the prices are utterly unreasonable. It's unacceptable to charge such exorbitant prices for snacks that can be found at a fraction of the cost elsewhere. Subpar Quality The hing kachoris, tea, samosas, and sweets I tried were all disappointingly average. The sabji (vegetable) filling in the kachoris was particularly unimpressive, with a bad taste that lingered. The tea was lukewarm and lacked flavor. The samosas were greasy and uninspiring. The sweets were overly sweet and lacked texture. Good Behaviour, But Not Enough While the staff at Mohan Bhandar Esplanade were courteous and friendly, their good behavior wasn't enough to redeem the overall experience. When prices are as high as they are, customers expect a certain level of quality and service. Unfortunately, Mohan Bhandar Esplanade falls short on both counts. Not Recommended Based on my disappointing experience, I would not recommend Mohan Bhandar Esplanade to anyone. With so many other options available in the area, it's best to avoid this overpriced and subpar snack shop. Rating: 1/5 Final Thoughts Mohan Bhandar Esplanade needs to reassess its pricing strategy and focus on improving the quality of its offerings. Until then, customers would be better off exploring other options in the area.
