We visited Masala Kitchen after hearing all the hype, and it totally lived up to it. It’s located near mandvi beach making it a perfect stop after a beach stroll. The ambience is a vibe in itself—rustic, raw, and full-on Konkan village feels. There’s even a charming little cart where you can shop for local goodies like Agal sharbat and other authentic Konkani products. We started with Amla soda and Kokum soda—so refreshing in the Ratnagiri heat! For the main course, we ordered the Surmai and Lep thali—and OMG, the size of the thali and the fish was mind-blowing. The bhakri was almost the size of the plate! We honestly struggled to finish it all, but loved every bite. Highly recommended for seafood lovers and anyone wanting a real taste of Konkan. Had a wonderful dining experience at Masala Kitchen. The ambiance is warm and welcoming with a beautiful traditional touch in the interiors. Their authentic Kokani and Maharashtrian food tastes just like home-cooked meals — full of flavor and prepared with care. The sea view enhances the overall vibe. During my recent visit to Ratnagiri, I had the pleasure of dining at Masala Kitchen Restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience that I highly recommend. Ambiance & Location Situated near Mandvi Beach, the restaurant offers a lively atmosphere with a beautiful view of the sea. The sound of the waves and the gentle sea breeze enhance the dining experience, making it both relaxing and enjoyable. Food & Cuisine Masala Kitchen specializes in authentic Konkani and Malwani cuisine, particularly focusing on fresh seafood. The menu boasts a vast variety of dishes, including Surmai, Bangda, Pomfret, prawns, crabs, lobster, and local specialties like Kanta, Modavsa, Ghol, and Tisrya. Each dish is prepared with a perfect blend of spices, capturing the essence of regional flavors. I tried the Surmai Thali and was impressed by the freshness and taste of the fish. The accompanying Kombadi Vade was the best I've ever had. Even the vegetarian options, such as Aluwadi and Kothimbir Wadi, were delightful surprises in a predominantly non-vegetarian establishment. Service & Staff The staff at Masala Kitchen are courteous and efficient. Our orders were served promptly, and the team ensured that we had everything we needed for a comfortable dining experience.
