HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! After coming across a lot of positive reviews & references from closed ones, finally decided to give it a try. Located at a stone throwing distance from the railway station right in the heart of the town, I must say this place is truly a Gem! Established in 1951, Mahamaya Hotel is a simple, age old, well maintained authentic Bengali-pice hotel. Serves affordable meals at the best tasting possible Cooking is done in a traditional fashion on WOOD-FIRE, which is itself a rare quality these days that sets this hotel apart from others Ordered a regular Chicken Thali - Rice, aromatic Masoor Dal, light yet flavorful AluPosto, 2 types of Sabzis, Chatni, Papad & the Hero Item - Chicken Kosha ( Properly cooked, tender & soft). The the best part? - You can ask for repetition at NO EXTRA COST. Staffs are as courteous & prompt as one should expect! This is the one of the oldest and iconic pice hotel at Bolpur. It is located near chourasta which is very near to the Bolpur - Santiniketan railway station. They have maintained their legacy till now very well. The food quality is overall good, hygiene is maintained properly. You can also feel old cabin style vibe here. Till now they use plates made with sal leaf, and jugs made with copper. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹1–200 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section
