Nice place with good vibes, but service needs improvement Located near Tagore Park and the Lake Walk area, this restaurant on top of Hotel Pearl, Mahe has a great ambiance and comfortable seating arrangements. The place serves some nice craft beers, and the food is good overall. It usually starts getting crowded after 9 PM, which shows its popularity. However, the service was quite delayed, mainly because there was only one person handling the service at the time. That did affect the overall experience a bit. Also, if you’re planning to leave late and don’t have your own vehicle, getting an auto can be difficult. Overall, a good spot to hang out with friends for food and drinks, but better staffing and service speed would make it much better. During our recent visit to Mahi, we had lunch at Light house Restobar, Pearl Mahe, located very close to Tagore Park. The dining experience was pleasant and memorable. We enjoyed their strawberry pudding, which was extremely soft and delicious, along with garlic Asian paneer, fresh lime, Corona Premium, and mutton fry. While the mutton was fresh and tender, we had expected a dry preparation; however, it was served with a generous amount of onion and masala, which slightly overshadowed the dish and made it less enjoyable for us. The strawberry pudding stood out as a highlight. It appeared to be prepared using coconut milk, giving it a distinct flavor compared to regular milk-based puddings. It was wonderfully soft, creamy, and truly delightful. The afternoon ambience was calm and refreshing, complemented by uniquely designed interiors that added to the charm of the place. Even the restrooms were creatively designed and visually appealing, reflecting attention to detail throughout the property. We were told that the night-time ambience is especially impressive; unfortunately, due to time constraints, we could not stay back to experience it. The staff were extremely courteous, despite the rush during the Christmas vacation. We noticed preparations underway for New Year celebrations, with beautifully arranged gifts placed beneath the Christmas tree, adding a festive touch to the atmosphere. For visitors to Mahi seeking a luxurious dining experience, Pearl Lighthouse Mahi is highly recommended. Their rooms are also said to be beautifully designed, but as they were fully booked during our visit, we couldn’t explore that aspect. Overall, it is a place worth visiting for its ambience, hospitality, and distinctive culinary offerings. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
