Les Amis – A Decadent Dance of Sweet & Savory Visited Les Amis with curiosity and left with a palate full of contrasts — some delightful, a few underwhelming, but overall, a charming experience. Started with the Brussels Waffle, which struck a beautiful balance between crunch and fluff. The pairing of ice cream and caramel sauce added just the right touch of indulgence without overwhelming the base — comforting, classic, and well-executed. The Berry Booster Smoothie, however, didn’t quite hit the mark. The berry flavour was intense — as promised — but veered a bit too far into tartness, masking any nuance. Not unpleasant, just one-note. Then came the standout: Berries in Belgium. This was a textural marvel — a soft, lush berry middle nestled atop a crunchy base. Perhaps just a touch too sweet, especially in the center layer, but still thoroughly enjoyable and beautifully composed. On the savory front, the Mushroom Caramelized Onion Sandwich was solid. Earthy, comforting, and neatly layered, though it stopped short of being memorable. The fries, unfortunately, were forgettable — neither crisp nor seasoned enough to make an impression. The true showstopper was the Southern Spice Sundae. It delivered an unexpected twist: the subtle coconut flavor laced through the creamy base, with mango and birthday cake frosting lending pops of tropical sweetness and nostalgia. Every bite felt thoughtfully balanced — a playful, spiced finale that elevated the whole meal. However, the atmosphere was loud, with the chatter and bustle of a busy restaurant making it harder to relax.
