The food, unfortunately, didn't live up to its hype. The Mutton Biryani had an unappetizing aroma, while the Mutton Pulav was mediocre, despite a generous serving of meat. The mutton pieces lacked flavor, which was disappointing. However, the Chicken Kebab Fry was a redeeming dish. We went there for breakfast with a bunch of super hungry colleagues who are regular to this place. Lakshman Mess is not the type of neat and clean restaurant and is a village type hotel. The owner started his business in a pushcart and went onto to have this establishment and this is a three storied building with many bench type seatings and table made of wood and is not so comfortable for long hours. First floor is for family and groups. The menu are varied comprising of Biryani, Leg Soup, mutton and chicken chops, palav, dosa, kheema fry, parota, boti curry and only the regulars will understand and like the taste. I tried leg soup, Mutton chops, boti fry and dosa and though seem tasty, hygiene and minimum sophistication is a factor which if your very particular about this, I urge you, this will not be to your liking. For all others, they simply gorge the food like hungry wolfs.
