#Location - It is somewhere close to Bhumkar Chowk but I have seriously no idea about the precise location of this place as I was driven to this place by Swapnil Ghosh who resides in the same locality. However, precise directions are given on Zomato / Google Maps so need not worry.
#Parking - Ample
Lad / लाड in Marathi / Hindi means love / pampering and this is what this place does to your taste buds. If you love traditional Maharashtrian-style cooked nonveg food, then this place will 'लाड’ify your taste buds like a grandma pampers her grandchildren.
#Ambiance - Spacious, airy and seats around 50-70 persons at a time comfortably. But I would suggest going preferably for dinner if you do not want to sweat extra due to the summer heat outside. But this does not imply that the food here is super spicy. On the contrary, we had some seriously flavourful stuff which got out the 'good sweat' with every bite.
#Menu - this place is famous mainly for #Mutton but it also serves a variety of Chicken and Egg items. But this place could be a disappointment for vegetarians as there are only three veg main course items in the menu.
We ordered
1. #MuttonSpecialThali - Serves 1 and includes Mutton Fry, Rassa, Alani soup, kheema, bhaakri or chapatis, Indrayani rice, Solkadhi and dahi-kanda.
Every item in this thali was absolutely brilliant. It was indeed spicy but these guys know how to get the flavours out of the meat and spices correctly.
#MuttonRassa - looked 'dangerously' red but was very tolerable and delicious.
#AlaniSoup - Broth of mutton bones It was 'Soup'erb ?
#Kheema - again good but I have had slightly better ones elsewhere.
#MuttonFry - good amount of meat on the bone. perfectly cooked and delicious.
#Solkadhi - again good but have had better elsewhere.
2. #MuttonSaadhiThali - a less glamorous version of the special thali which is nothing but devoid of kheema and solkadhi.
And now comes the piece de resistance. it is a #Starter item but #PleaseOrder
3. #ThechaMutton - Me and Swapnil were very skeptical at first fearing the spice levels but we decided to go for it and boy oh boy!! what a find!! this was the star dish of the day!!! Spicy indeed...a lot … but the masala and the flavours that this dish had, absorbed brilliantly by the mutton was #simplyfabulous. We finished the dish in no time and I couldn't resist but take one more plate parcel to eat at lunch the next day. this one is #MustHave if you love thecha stuff.
#LadRestaurant, you won our hearts that evening with some brilliant mutton. And we are coming back soon to try out other items on the menu. Keep the mutton coming!!!
