I was expecting the best Dabeli after looking at the Name "Kutchi King". Somehow I was not as satisfied as the name implies.
Persian Food (Second Persian Empire - Iran) has a very strong influence on the North Indian and West Indian Cuisine. Jalebi, Kebabs, Korma (Ghormeh), Subzi (Sabzi) Falooda (Faloodeh), Halwa (Lokum - Turkish origin), Shakkar Pari (Shekhar Pare) and many other delicacies were introduced by the Iranian Empire. Kutchi dabeli or Double Roti is pretty much interesting. It leaves many open questions. We know it originated in the Kutch region of Gujarat. The very use of pomegranates, dates and bread leads to many open possibilities.
Kutchi King has an average Dabeli. One still needs to visit the streets of Ghatkopar, Mulund and Malad to try the best Dabeli that's mildly or at times just spicy mix of mashed or boiled potatoes with Masala, Pomegranates, Roasted Peanuts, Butter, Tamarind paste, Dates Syrup and Garlic which is often garnished with Sev and Coriander.
The Vada Pav here is again average. There's nothing much that I can say. It's an average joint for vegetarian food.
This place is near to my house so thought of giving try for kutchibowl and dabeli...
Kutchibowl
Its was not so yum to have, as i thought bcoz kutchiking is famous for its kutchibowl, as it was too spicy and garm masala or some masala where too high in taste...
Dablei
As both have same masala it was also same in the taste... need to improve..
Wana try other foods also but hoping better taste...
Vada Pav is one Mumbai-food which is available out here in plenty and most of my Delhi NCR food friends have a craving for this speciality food.
My original plan was to hit this place today but I was not able to make it. Told someone to get two plates- vada pav from Kutchi King which is located not very far from where I stay.
Well, the vada pavs of this place are fine and I would like to try out their patata-vada sometime. Somehow, I am "yet to come across" one good authentic vada pav place in Dombivali East !!
In June 2016, the vada pavs that I had from a road side dhaba - enroute to SHIRDI, were too good and served with lots of fried chillies
