During a 'one day' temple visit to Thiruvarur, we decided to try the locally famed eateries for our refreshments. So, breakfast was at Kumar Mess, a nondescriptive outlet on the Main Road. We stuck to basics. Idli was steaming hot and fluffy soft, vada was crispy and hot. While their sambar and coconut chutney did their deed, it was the onion chutney that stood out and hit differently. Ambience is nothing, you need to concentrate on the fare. Service was okay and the pricing is low-end.
