Konkani Katta was one of the very few decent restaurants at the Food Court of Eternity Mall, Thane.
Their USP, simple food yet authentic and tasty. Ambience next to nill, since tables set outside their eatery, this mall did not have a fancy food court. Yet, would need to wait for a seat during meal times during weekends.
Poha, amazing taste, prepared in the authentic Maharastrian style, good enough to feed two small eaters.
Practically every dish we tried out here was delicious be it Egg Bhurji, Surmai Tawa Fry, Malwani Chicken, Egg Biryani, Chicken Dum Biryani.
Even a simple dish like Sukka Bhaji was tasty. Used to generally have the gravy with either Tandalachi (Rice) Bhakri or Chappatis, no complaints on both fronts.
Though they had a reasonable choice in Thalis and Chinese, never ventured to try out both.
Service was average, Pricing was definitely economical for the quality and portions of food served.
Haven’t visited the mall of late, since most of it has shut down except for the Movie Theatre.
A hidden gem inside the dead mall thats what i can say. When it had opened had gone there during all the hustle bustle used to be there and loads of food options were there. The newly opened kokani katta was a delight with the kind of maharastrain menu. The prawns garlic was superb and one of the best . Even the thali options were good. I dont know whats the state now as almost 95% of the mall is closed and there aren't any food outlet expect some sandwichwalas . May be they can shift to some better place and get the right appreciation for the authentic kokani food they serve.
STAY AWAY if you love yourself. This place is located in a dead mall. The lifts don't work. The escalators don't work and the place stinks. The moment you land on the so called food court, all you will see is dodgy looking people making out and others behind the counter...staring and getting cheap kicks. There are cats all over the place and hence cat litter (ewwww) and the woman at Konkani counter was busy scratching her head and smelt bad. I ran away almost within a minute of observing all this...I repeat, STAY AWAY!
