Shawarma King in Sadar Bazar, Rajkot is a place that clearly knows how to get the taste right, but unfortunately falls short when it comes to hygiene and overall upkeep. My experience here was mixed, which is why I feel a 3-star rating is fair. Starting with the positive side, the shawarma itself is genuinely tasty. The chicken was well-seasoned, juicy, and cooked nicely on the rotisserie. The spices were balanced, the garlic sauce had good flavour, and the wrap was filling. If you’re someone who focuses mainly on flavour, Shawarma King won’t disappoint you. Among local street-style shawarma options, the taste stands out and keeps people coming back. However, the hygiene levels are a major concern. The preparation area did not look clean, and basic cleanliness standards were lacking. From the counter to the surrounding space, everything appeared messy. Staff were not wearing gloves consistently, and overall food handling could be much better. For a food outlet that serves so many customers daily, cleanliness should be a top priority. The ambience is very basic, which is expected for a small outlet in Sadar Bazar, but cleanliness should never be compromised. There is little to no seating, making it more of a takeaway spot. Service is average—quick, but not very attentive. To sum it up, Shawarma King offers good taste but poor hygiene, which limits the overall experience. If the management improves cleanliness and food safety practices, this place could easily become a top shawarma spot in Rajkot. Until then, it’s best for occasional visits rather than regular dining.
