Ideal food corner

Ideal Food Corner is a small, casual eatery located near ICFAI, Dhankheti, in Shillong. The establishment offers a cozy setting with just a few tables and the option to sit outside when construction activities aren't ongoing. Its atmosphere seems welcoming, although details are sparse due to limited recent updates. The restaurant primarily serves Khasi dishes and some fast-food snacks, providing a quick bite for those on the go.

A notable feature of Ideal Food Corner is its welcoming nature, exemplified by the owner's attentiveness. The menu, though modest, includes traditional items like Ja and Doh Syiar Kylla, catering to groups and families, as it's considered good for kids too. Despite being operational Monday through Saturday from mid-morning to early evening, the owner hasn't shared much about newer offerings or developments in the past year.

Most of the available feedback comes from a year back from visitors who appreciated the warm hospitality and timely service. However, potential guests should be prepared for this possible lack of communication and expect variability in availability due to ongoing construction. It's not comprehensively listed across popular directories, so anyone interested should be proactive in checking for current operations directly.

Rice + Chicken Curry + Salad - Rs.80 Ideal Food Corner, near ICFAI, Dhankheti, Shillong Khasi, Fastfood $ 17.02.24 It's been a very crazy week & more. After all that running around for work, my nephew is now in the hospital, Woodland Hospital. Have not had the chance to explore anything for days; until today. I left the hospital for a short break to look for a place to eat nearby. I then remembered Ideal Food Corner located just next to ICFAI. I did visit it twice a month back but it was still closed as some construction activities was going on. Today construction was still going on but this time the door of the cafe was open. I stood confused on what to do for about 5 secs when in that passing moment the owner noticed me standing at the gate & came out to greet. I asked her if it was open & well I now think it was not, but she didn't want to miss the opportunity of a new customer & welcomed me inside. The place is very small but cozy with a couple of tables. I guess you could also sit outside if the workers weren't working. The lady informed that the only items available today was Ja, Doh Syiar kylla, Syrwa Dohsniang, Tungtap & salad. I don't eat tungtap & wasn't too keen on Syrwa, so I went with the dohsyiar kylla. I noticed on the menu that they had some fast food snacks as well. The plate of food arrived almost immediately. It had an average quality rice along with 2 pieces of chicken curry & cucumber & onions. The chicken was cooked very well & tender. The gravy was simple but very tasty. I imagined this would have been perfect with rotis & parathas. Later I realized that the food was actually meant for the construction workers. The lady must have noticed my hungry " whole day hospital duty" demeanor & called me in to eat. It was very kind of her to do so.
