Hotel Kuttappas in Thodupuzha is one of those old-school gems that quietly serves comfort and nostalgia on a plate. Located right in the heart of town, this iconic eatery has been around for decades, and stepping into it feels like entering a simpler time. Despite its modest look and vintage setting, the food here speaks volumes — both in taste and tradition. We recently stopped by in the evening and tried some of their most popular snacks. The pazham pori (banana fritters) were perfectly crisp on the outside, soft and sweet inside — just the way it should be. The parippuvada had that irresistible crunch and an earthy aroma, with the right amount of spice. But the real surprise was the pappadavada — a rare find these days, and absolutely delicious with its light, peppery crunch. More than just snacks, what makes Hotel Kuttappas special is the warm, no-fuss vibe and the familiar smiles of the staff. It’s not a trendy café or a luxury diner — and it doesn’t try to be. Instead, it offers something far more valuable: consistency, character, and genuine flavor. With every visit, we find ourselves falling a little more in love with this place. Kuttappas has officially become our new go-to tea spot in Thodupuzha Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
