We were introduced to Hotel Divya by chance when we expressed our wish to eat authentic goan food, minus the glam. A very kind and friendly police officer on his beat in Saligao pointed us in the direction of this place. What a good decision it was to take his advise! We visited in March 2020, just before the lockdown and haven't been able to stop thinking about the scrumptious meal we had here (twice). The fish thali is amazing, the fish fry, the curry, the accompaniments all on point. The prawn, mackerel and king fish rawa fry is the best we have had! We are back in Goa after two years and the first thing we did is try and check if Hotel Divya is still functional. Staying in extreme South this time, but we will make a trip to the North to visit Hotel Divya, its that good! Divya, the main lady who's got the blessings of goddess Annapurna is a gem, along with her husband who runs this place. We were bowled over by their simple and humble demeanour, not knowing the effect they have, first on people's pallettes and next on their mind and hearts. If you are in the North of Goa, or are ready to make a trip to the North from wherever you are, please visit this humble joint with extremely soul satisfying goan food! Remember, its all about the food and the people, not the frills :)
