Today, I had the rare experience of tasting some unique Bengali dishes with a historical aroma. Long ago, Rameshwar Mitra, the renowned royal accountant, was gifted a golden palm Royal seal with the title "Mustafi" by Emperor Aurangzeb. His eldest son, Raghunandan Mitra Mustafi, held a zamindari at Sreepur in Balagarh,West Bengal. In 1707 AD, he established the Zamindarbari, which includes the 'Natmandir' and the famous 'Dochala Mandap' featuring incredibly beautiful carvings on wooden pillars, which are still intact today. Next to it is the ancient homestead of a descendant. The kitchen of that house is known today as "Hot Charcoal". Needless to say, there is an exciting blend of tradition with "Hot Charcoal". I tasted a few items from their variety of food today, and they were simply excellent. Their superior quality and comparatively cheap prices would make any reputed restaurant in Kolkata bow down. From various points of view, like the love of food, hospitality, and attraction to tradition, "Tasting hot charcoal food will be a rare experience for me forever." Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
