Typical Gowda-style hotel. The food is very tasty, but the place is a bit congested and not suitable for families. Food lovers must visit this place, but those looking for a standard or comfortable atmosphere may not find it suitable. We visited Gowdru Mess in Mysore during Dasara after seeing the high ratings and reviews, but the experience was really disappointing. We tried items like Ragi Mudde, Kaima, Kal Soup, Mutton Chops, and a few more, expecting authentic Naati-style dishes. Unfortunately, the food did not live up to the name or the hype. ~ The taste was below average, nowhere close to authentic Naati preparations. ~ The dishes felt more like regular mess food with just traditional names attached. ~ Quality of meat and overall preparation were poor. Overall, it’s just named as a Naati hotel but doesn’t serve real Naati-style food. Quite overrated and not worth the hype. We felt bad after eating and would not recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic Gowdru/Naati-style dishes in Mysore.
