Nestled in a side lane off the bustling Avinashi Road in Coimbatore, Dhonnai Biryani House is a must-visit establishment for biryani enthusiasts. The cuisine type is traditional South Indian military-style biryani, which is deliciously aromatic and subtly spiced. The ambiance of this place is no-frills, with a focus purely on the food. The interior design is simple yet inviting, with limited seating options available. The price range is reasonable, with dishes ranging from INR 150 to INR 400.

The location of this fine dining spot is easily accessible and has adequate parking space available. Special features include the serving of biryani in a dhonnai (leaf moulded in the shape of a bowl), giving it a traditional touch. The mutton biryani is a must-try dish, with tender meat and perfectly cooked rice. Other recommended dishes include Afghan leg chicken, mutton chukka, and Andhra chicken masala.

For drinks, one can choose from a variety of soft drinks and fresh juices. The grape juice served here is particularly refreshing. The establishment does not serve alcohol. The service is friendly and prompt, making the overall experience delightful. In conclusion, Dhonnai Biryani House is a hidden gem that offers authentic, flavorful biryani in a no-frills setting.

Coimbatore has lot of Briyani hotels but this dhonnai Briyani has its own unique taste. This is one of the best in town. They provide a subtle flavoured biriyani which was yum and their meat quality...( be it chicken or mutton) is amazing. It's so soft and tender that it just melts in your mouth. They have different varieties of Mutton and chicken side dishes. Mutton Briyani was ultimate, mutton pieces were perfectly cooked. Spice level was on the correct level, not too spicy or low. Everything was finger Licking good. If you are a person who loves mild and subtle flavoured Biriyanis.... Then quite a good spot for you. The restaurant is a small space and it's very crowded during the lunch time ( free during Tuesdays and Fridays mostly). It's not too pricey nor cheap. They have parking space available. We absolutely loved their chicken and mutton biryani , pepper chicken, afghani chicken. Even though it’s in a narrow road you will find parking space close by. Walk-in Customers who prefer take away are not given preference. They asked me to wait for 1 hr to get the food while food was getting packed for Pre orders made through phone. While telephonic orders are given priority efforts should be taken to accommodate customers who drive down to order the food at your place. What the management did not know is I tried calling them over phone but travelled down as the call was not answered! Establishing Proper system is mandatory as you gain more prominence in sale. If not you might lose valuable past customers who used to make bulk and frequent orders. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
