Dhiren Cabin is another heritage food joint of north kolkata.It is famous for fried items.Dhiren Cabin is located at Sovabazar Street opposite of Hatkhola Police Station.Today I’ve visited here with my family.We ordered here Egg Devil,Mutton Braised Cutlet,Fish Batter Fry,Fish Fry,Egg Moghlai & Mutton Kosha.All items are delicious.Must try their Egg Moghlai,its very tasty.Service is very fast. Munched over this almost century old iconic Bengali Cabin Style restaurant this evening. From white marbel embellished dinning tables to small wooden cabins, they still hold the old calcutta charm. We have ordered their very famous egg moghlai parota, which is very tasty as expected, posing a think crust & soft texture accompanied with dry aloo dam & salad. Later we have ordered their Fish pakoda (4pc in a plate) & Fish batter fry, both of them tasted very identical & pretty avarage (except their shape & size) though the fish used inside is fresh & of good quality. Service is decent & staffs are cordial. You may try once for experiencing by own self. The busy kitchen proves it's popularity. Although in North Kolkata better options are available as well. Keep cash in hand, because online payment option might not be available all the time. Dhiren cabin is an old style cabin culture eatery in North Kolkata. We ordered - fish fry, mutton braised cutlet and vegetable chop. The fish fry was the best out of the lot. Kolkata bhetki fillet marinated in herbs and spices and deep fried in bread crumbs. The mutton braised cutlet was too good in its taste and it was a new item for me. Decent enough mutton portions and stuffing. The vegetable chop could have been better, while the missing was good the outer layer was not crispy enough. The front area being fully occupied we had to sit in the inside room. Now I keep hygiene out of my mind while going on street foods. But when the inner room is literally your preparation area.
