This place has a legacy but to be honest, it needs to shake things up a bit. The hygiene needs to improved as stated in some of the recent reviews. I saw no one wearing gloves or anything while preparing dosa, using their bare hands to add butter (it was acceptable traditionally but since the kitchen is closed, it would get sweaty and would you as a customer be okay with having a dish with a pinch of sweat in it?). Now coming to the taste, it was okay but I definitely believe it can get drastically better. We had open butter masala dosa, ghee pudi masala dosa and coffee. Coffee was meh (2/5) Ghee pudi masala dosa had coconut in it, and didn’t taste as good (3/5) Open butter masala dosa was decent (4/5) But the chutney wasn’t that good, I crave for the chutneys everytime I visit these darshinis but couldn’t enjoy it as much at Dakshin Cafe.
