Coffee Lounge is pretty near Sardar Vallabhai Patel Police Museum. If you have never tasted Vegetarian cuisine, you should order a table and try the menu at this restaurant. A lot of visitors think that a vada here is nicely cooked.

My friend and I were travelling from Kollam back to Trivandrum and wanted to have some coffee and snacks. Being NOT a fan of Railway food, we decided to eat at a nearby restaurant. That's when Coffee lounge caught our eye. Coffee Lounge is situated directly opposite to the Kollam railway station front-side exit/enter way. (Not the main entrance) Just as we entered the restaurant it was really crowded with travellers having their meals and evening snacks. We got a seat after 2 minutes. It's a small place with limited seating capacity. There is toilet facility available right next to the handwashing area. It's not very much clean though. Which is understandable as hundreds of travellers use it right from morning till night so it's not very much practical to keep it spotless clean all the time. Anyways just as we sat down the waiter came and took our order. We ordered a coffee, a tea, a vada and a pazhampori. Within a few minutes itself our order arrived and i was really surprised to see the coffee.. it was really good, frothy coffee ! And even the snacks were really good and hot ! They even supplied Chutney and sambar along with them even without asking. (Which I don't usually see in normal small restaurants. There are exceptions though) Anyways loved the evening tea, coffee and snacks from here. I'll definitely recommend having their coffee if you're in the area looking for good coffee ! Overall the service was fast and good, the food we had was also good.. the only thing is due to the limited space and huge number of travellers coming and going, the cleanliness is a bit compromised. So If you're in the area and looking for a quick stop near Kollam railway station, I'd recommend checking out the Coffee Lounge.
