Cafe Udupi is a good option for South Indian food in Viman Nagar. I went there at 7:15 am and the place was nearly full and buzzing with activity. I had Idli Wada ( dipped in) Sambar, Kundapura Ghee roast masala dosa and filter coffee. The Idli and Medu wada were well made, big in size and good to taste. The sambar was in udupi style, slightly sweet. The coriander coconut chutney complemented the rest. The Kundapura Ghee roast dosa was very good, crispy and soft at the same time and the potato bhaji (masala) in it was very tasty. The Kundapura masala greatly added to the taste, look and feel of the dosa. The service was very prompt, efficient and proactive. While there could be places with better Sambar, Cafe Udupi delivers good food with quality and value for money.
