Hidden away in Coonoor, Café Diem is indeed a hidden treasure in the Nilgiris. Entering this ambient café, I felt the warmth that with extra care had been bestowed by the charm of the surrounding nature. The calm atmosphere soothes the soul. The cuisine, was divine-based. It was the celebration of every flavor and freshness. The ingredients are fresh and thought through in the sourcing process, ensuring every bite is delicious. What makes the experience stand out is the ambiance and service. The staff was warm and attentive, and they exuded genuine passion for the food they serve. They patiently explained the menu and made us feel at home. Whether you enjoy gourmet food, prefer to be a nature seeker, or want to bask in the ambience with excellent vegetarian preparations, then Café Diem should definitely be on your lists. This is more than a mere café; it is an experience-waving together taste, serenity, and hearty exuberance. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Our group went for lunch at this cafe on a weekend which proved to be a very bad experience.
Pros- Ambience was bit different and innovative. There is a small valley view which gives a good scenic view. Piace is clean and hygienic.
Cons-
1. Hospitality- Poorest ever. The lady who owns the cafe is very rude. The moment we reached, instead of welcoming, she started enquiring about table booking. She had a problem with us taking photographs on one of vacant tables. We were accommodated inside area which was very cramped. When outside tables got vacated and we wanted to shift out for a better view, she totally refused stating that tables are reserved. Though for our surprise, no one turned up to occupy them for next 1 hour till we left. Overall it appeared that we are not welcomed at all.
2. Space- Space is very cramped. Don't go by the posted photographs. There are two location for dining, one is outside and other inside. While booking a table, they din't even ask which location we would prefer.
3. Food- Food was a total waste, be it quality or quantity. There is a very limited option available. Pizza base was burnt which had to be changed. New Pizza served was smaller in size. Lasagne was more or less a boiled eggplant vegetable. All sophisticated named beverages at very high cost were just fresh juices. All quantities were so small that were good enough only for my 4 year old son. We almost had to order same item twice to satisfy our hunger.
4. Price- All items are pretty expensive. Services, ambience, quality and quantity of food are not at all at par with the price charged.
5. Paking- very limited space for parking.
Overall, not advisable at all. You would regret visiting here.
