Many years ago, (and I suppose that's enough to say without giving away how old I am getting to) I used to come to Cafe Amin when I was in college nearby for lunch. Back in those days, my granny lived close by, and while I wouldn't miss out on her excellent cooking, I would still crave some of the dishes Cafe Amin would offer. One of these was the paya (goat trotters). It used to be made with a mix of poppy seeds and other blends, and the whitish korma and paratta or idiyappam would be a great combination. Fast forward to 2025, the korma has lost its magic while the paratta was still flaky, thin, and absorbent. All good things come to an end, and I guess one can not expect the same chef to continue cooking for 40 years flat. That said, the restaurant is kind of dingy with poor lighting, which is usually common with all Indian restaurants universally and you have to go inside the second door to their air-conditioned dining room. Over all the service is good, the food is average and the atmosphere so, so. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch Price per person: ₹200–400 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
