Being a coffee buff, I’ve always wanted to try Blue Tokai, and as soon as I got the chance, I popped into the outlet here. The food was fresh and enjoyable, and the coffee delivered exactly what I hoped for, rich flavour and aromatic notes that clearly reflected freshly roasted beans, something I truly appreciate in a well-run café. That said, I do feel there’s room for improvement in employee training. While I didn’t face any specific issues, creating a memorable experience goes beyond just good coffee and food, the staff plays a key role in setting the tone. A little more polish in service could elevate the experience significantly. Overall, a solid spot for coffee lovers, and I’ll definitely be back. What We Ordered We got a croissant, matcha, and a Spanish iced latte. They also offer date syrup as a low-sugar alternative — a thoughtful touch for health-conscious folks. Pros • Great coffee and consistently tasty food • Date syrup option for those avoiding sugar • Reliable for online orders or delivery — no complaints there. Everything super well packaged!!!!!! Especially iced coffee. Brownie points there! Cons • No charging points despite being a work-friendly café — major drawback • Dirty floors, uncleaned tables, and a noisy counter ALWAYS • Ambience has declined — too many small tables packed too close • Menu isn’t visible on the wall anymore, making it harder to order • Disruptive sounds from equipment like the mixie being a big one Tips • Best for takeaway or delivery • If visiting, go fully charged and avoid peak hours • Not ideal if you want a quiet space to read or work Overall Great coffee, poor café experience. Ok so, I like the fact that it opened pretty early in the morning. That's about it. The cafe mocha here did NOT taste like mocha. The roasted tomato croissant with pesto was nice. The dark chocolate salted cruffin was mostly just air. The cold cappuccino was water and coffee in a midget mug. Overall, the food and beverage spread here is, at best, less than mediocre and expensive. Highly recommended for people with a less refined palette. Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 4
