My connection with Barista goes to the days when they were owned by Tatas!

A typical Cafe with a boutique shop interiors. Goes well with the teenagers & college community!

The  cookies & sandwich compliment the Cappuccino.
But the best part is....The BlueBerry Muffin!! Hot & soft.. sweet & cakey! :-D
The aroma remains in the senses!

The service is good... one of the best! :-) Oder a Coffe from a barista @ the Barista!!!

A long awaited review. This is the pilot Barista in Coimbatore. Though the city is flooded with CCDs and other small time cafe joints, Barista always had it's right of way.

The coffee shop is located right on the walk-by entrance of the mall, free from the crowd, which is a chaotic dazzle during weekend.
Ambiance-
Being located right under direct sunlight, they has no shortage of light and warmth. But during the hotter days they might need to pump the ACs a little high so as to make up for the damage done by direct sunlight. The glazing could be worked a little to improvise this aspect. The furniture is nothing different, but the number of couple couches were less or nil and so aren't there many big tables to accommodate, so if you're a larger crowd, good luck with the chairs. Other than these two, every aspect of the interior is a plus. The ceilings are tall enough to provide the luxury and the lighting is awesome with not much artificial.
Food-
It's Barista, I'm a fan of their Italiano Espresso a.k.a espresso shots, that too sugar-less. If you've got a killer crave for the raw coffee, that should be your call. They serve a wider menu of coffee and shakes. Not much with chocolate in the drinks they have, but the hot chocolate is a table turner. Teas, though not completely neglected, are just given a decent place in the menu. And hey, you get complimentary cookies with every coffee!
Sandwich, pastas and other things on the menu that sound so craving are capable of leaving an everlasting dent on the wallet and heart. There are better places to eat the other things that deserve the cost and hype.
Service, I was confused between self and service, which ended up me walking to and fro awkwardly during the first visit. They do serve on the table is what I'd like to infer.

Summarizing the above, never forget that it's a coffee shop, and the rest of the items on the menu are just add-ons so that coffee here don't feel left alone(pun-in)

Food(coffee and shakes in specific)- 4.5/5
Ambiance- 3.5/5
Service- 3.5/5

Been a fan of the Barista chain for a couple of years now. Been to this particular outlet twice. They're located at the ground floor of Brookfields. Had a Brrrista Mocha Frappe the first time around and a Cappuccino and a Paneer Tikka Sandwich the second time. Found all of these quite good. The staff are quite cheerful and let you enjoy your coffee in peace, allowing you to take all the time you want :)
