The walk with a view of Bapu Pujari Mandir is what you can expect after dining at this restaurant. Barrahandi Restaurant is recommended for the Indian cuisine served. Nicely cooked roti, nihari and chicken can make a great impression on you.
Having baara handi during ramzan post iftari is a must every year. It just gets better . The baara handi is a dish prepared out of 12 different types of gravy . It's only for people who can eat goat's meat. As they don't serve anything in chicken .
Located in the crowded by Lanes under the JJ flyover, Bara handi adds over a 100 people to the already crazy mix.
It was a struggle to get a seat... ! Not only were all the seats full, but people were standing all around and gulping their ramadan favourites.
After a friends suggestion we tried :
Nalli Nihaari : It is supposed to be a special here. The quantity was quite filling thought we were 100% fond of the taste! The meat was cooked beautifully but something about that gravy didn't quite hit us on the spot.
Roti : The size of their Rotis was humongous..! The plates weren't big enough to accommodate it. Nice mix of soft tandoored roti's with crisp ends.
Bara Handi SPl Dal Paaya : Quite an interesting taste, goes more with rice!
Tandoori Chicken : We also had an interesting green ( we guess pudina marinade) tandoori chicken... beautifully marinated, soft succulent pieces, this was the star was us.
We had a very jolly waiter who smiled throughout :)
A little difficult to find but one can take the help of localities to reach there.Their signature dish is mutton nalli nihari which was cooked with perfection blend of spices
A must visit place during Ramadan festival
