Baokin situated in Baner Balewadi Road opposite to Syngenta is one of the worst pan Asian restaurant you can find in the area. They say that they are a Pan Asian Restaurant, but the food is no where near that. We had visited there on my daughters birthday as she wanted to have Baos for her special day. After seeing all the reviews and reels on social media we decided to go there. The place is quiet, clean and atmosphere is good, but, the service is very bad. First the menu is very limited as what they show on google, and when I say limited it's very very limited. We had ordered Crumble Bumble Bao and Korean Chicken Bao. Both of them tasted the same and the lettuce was not fresh and was a dried one like it did not belong there. Dumplings were so small that tasteless. When we asked the server about which one is good and to guide us through it seemed he was very confused and did not knew about the menu entirely. Whatever we asked yes portion is good. On appetizer we ordered Korean Chicken, portion size is very less. They said 10-12 medium pieces but they were all small pieces. By this we were already exhausted and just wanted to order main course so we ordered Chicken Katsu Curry which is one of our favorite dish and trust me we have tasted the dish before but here it was something else. The rice was not sticky, it was a broth not curry which had only half boiled potatoes and carrots. Chicken was unseasoned and bland. When asked for a Non Veg mixed noodles he said we can only add chicken, on repeated informing that can add atleast eggs if not shrimp, said okay and trust me the noodle was dry and seemed like a roadside noodle not a restaurant level. When we informed the manager about the same, he simply said we do not keep authentic flavours, we try to keep a bit of Indian touch as the authentic taste might not be liked by all. Huhh..!! Then mention in the menu that dishes have Indian touch. Overall very disappointed and never visiting the place ever again. They just ruined my daughters special demand to have baos amd dimsums. To the management, please ensure your staff knows about the menu in full and inform the guests accordingly and just not saying, how can I say about the portion size, it's enough for you all. A nice spot to explore if you’re into Asian flavors, especially ramen and baos. The seating area is slightly limited, but the overall ambience is pleasant. They also have outdoor seating, which adds to the experience. What we tried: 1. Peri-Peri Chicken Bao – Expected it to be spicy, but the flavors felt a bit bland and mostly dominated by a single sauce. Didn’t enjoy this one much. Would recommend trying their fried chicken bao instead. 2. Chicken Ramen – This was actually really good. The broth was flavorful and well-balanced, and the fried chicken added a nice touch to the dish. Overall, a good place to visit if you enjoy Korean cuisine and ramen. Worth trying, especially for the ramen. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ₹400–600 Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 3
