Visited Baba au Rhum, Anjuna today for brunch with friends. The vibe of the place is honestly very, very good — aesthetic, cozy, and perfect for chilling with friends. Ambience is easily one of the strongest points here. Food-wise, it was a mixed experience. We tried the cheese garlic baguette and a Mediterranean sandwich — both were mid, with the sandwich being a bit dry. The croissant was good, the latte was good, and the bacon was okayish. The Margherita pizza was the clear winner — thin crust, excellent texture, and really good taste. Easily the best thing we ordered. Portion sizes aren’t very generous, and honestly, the place feels quite overpriced for the food quality, except for the pizza. While the food didn’t fully justify the prices, the overall vibe and ambience made the experience enjoyable. Would come back more for the vibe than the food, and definitely for the Margherita pizza Meal type: Brunch Price per person: ₹600–800 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Not good menu, veg options rent clearly mentioned

Visited Baba Au Rhum (Anjuna) during the New Year break. The place is clearly a hit, great location, strong brand, and it gets overcrowded fast. The issue for us was how the crowd is handled now. We have been very regular there, visiting it multiple times. This time at 1:30-2:00pm, the reception experience was rough. The person at the entrance was rude and dismissive, and the message we got was essentially: “There is waiting, and we won’t be able to serve because there is no guarantee anything will be left.” If you’re that slammed, fair.. but this can be communicated with more basic courtesy and a clearer process. What makes it frustrating is that many reviews echo a similar pattern: people love the vibe/food, but peak-hour waits + overwhelmed or inconsistent service keep coming up, including mentions of rudeness. My takeaway: go early if you must, and management needs to professionalize front-of-house and queue handling to match the popularity. Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4

Thank you Pranit, for your honest feedback. We truly appreciate you highlighting this. Our popularity does lead to high footfall, but that’s no excuse for lapses in front-of-house coordination. We’re actively working on improving queue management and service flow to ensure a smoother experience for all our guests. Hope to serve you better on your next visit.

Our review: 4.5 / 5:
@babaaurhumcafeanjuna, poetically named after the 1835 rum-infused French dessert, caters to lovers of life and lovers of food. The cafe-restaurant, created by Dayini Feraud and Leo Michaud in the tiny, nearly-impossible-to-find village of Arpora. Dayini’s focus on using ‘home made products’ and a promise that preparations are made á la minute, is well known amongst her regular patrons. Rough and rustic, would best describe the ambience with wooden tables and benches with the odd large cushions to sit on for that cosy feel amongst the ‘natural’ foliage surrounding you. Coming to food, from breakfast menu; you can choose from a variety of coffees, teas or juices, etc. A must-try is their bacon delight, one can choose from burgers, quiches, pizzas, crostinis etc. The salads are always fresh. Simplicity lies in the desserts on display in the cabinet. With a full bar too, this place is sought after to unwind for a light hearted moment. The café is well staffed and the team is always on hand with friendly smiles and attentive service. Overall after late night of intense partying in North Goa the search for breakfast in this place ends here. .
