We visited for the Bengali Food Festival and were genuinely excited, but the experience turned out to be extremely disappointing. As a Bengali, I found the food quality to be among the worst I’ve had. The chicken curry lacked flavour entirely and tasted boiled and chewy. The posto fish was similarly bland, and the pulao was just average. The only dish that stood out was the prawn malai curry, but even then, the prawns were possibly the smallest whole prawns I’ve ever seen. The chutney tasted more like a morabba than a proper Bengali chutney. What made the experience even worse was that the menu listed mutton curry—a staple and highlight of any Bengali meal—but they didn’t have it available. After raising this, they eventually brought out a serving, but it was mostly bones and ribs with barely any meat. For a 4-star property like Marriott Sheraton, this was incredibly underwhelming. I wouldn’t rate this food even 1 star. Please stop misleading customers by calling this a Bengali food festival. Meal type: Lunch Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2

We visit Awadh 5 on special occasions for A La Cart menu. This time was on our daughter’s birthday. The main reason is less crowd and no music(unless a live performance) and one tend to enjoy food in a peaceful and quiet environment. Rahul served us with utmost standards and also offered us complimentary drink as food was getting bit late. We ordered for Laal Maans and Kadhahi Murg in mains along with butter garlic naans. Though the Laal maans was not as fiery as it should be, but the gravy was very flavourful and the mutton cooked to perfection. Kadhai Murg was mild to moderately spiced with just right amount or gravy and tasted delicious. Biased towards butter garlic naan and hence thoroughly enjoyed. To accompany the tasty gravies in the mains, we also ordered chicken dum biryani. The biryani rice was flavourful and fragrant with perfect mix of masala and well marinated chicken. Overall a tasty and leisurely dinner in a calm environment with top notch service. Truly worth it. Rahul was excellent and Priti too did a fine job of checking if we enjoyed, which we sure did.
